As a qualified in-home childcare provider or home support worker, you may be eligible to pursue permanent residency under the Caregiver Class. There are two distinct programs that fall within this classification.

1. CARING FOR CHILDREN PROGRAM

In addition to the eligibility criteria mentioned above, you may also be able to apply for permanent residency under the Caring for Children Class if you have fulfilled the following criteria:

  • You have accumulated a minimum of 2 years of work experience as a home childcare provider in Canada.
  • You have met the minimum language proficiency and education requirements as set forth by the program.
2. CARING FOR PEOPLE WITH HIGH MEDICAL NEEDS PROGRAM

You may be eligible for permanent residency under the Caring for People with High Medical Needs Class if you meet the following requirements:

  • You have been employed in Canada for a minimum of 2 years as a registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, nurse aide or orderly, or home support worker.
  • You have met the minimum language proficiency and education standards as outlined by the program.
